USE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SKILLS TO EARN MONEY
FROM HOME
Are you one of those
talented photographers only using your skills for the odd family event
or to capture an animal rummaging in the yard?
Photography skills aren’t as widespread as most of us think – the
majority of people will waste up to 90% of a roll of film (or a digital
chip) just snapping off-centred, blurry pics of the cat.
If you are one of the rare talented people who can snap a photo
that is actually worth looking at, you might be able to ditch your 9 to
5 and make a living selling photos. If
you want to know more about getting started, check out
www.money-at-home.com and
see what you can do to build a great home business.
Think about it:
everywhere you turn, you see photos.
In magazines, in the newspapers, in advertisements and basically
any media document or presentation you can find.
Where there is writing or any message to be conveyed, people want
pictures! We are a very
visual species, and everyone loves a well-taken photo, whether it is of
a bird, a lake, a slice of cake or a politician ruining his or her
career. The first thing
children pay attention to is the television and picture books, and from
that point on humans are addicted to the images all around them.
Literally everyone needs good photos, so you should use your
talents to make a bit of money and contribute to society the best way
you can!
Depending on your
interests, you can market your photos to different companies, agencies
and just regular individuals who might want professional photographs
taken of them and their families or pets.
Are you into animals?
Celebs? Journalism?
No matter what your favourite topics, you can learn how to take
pictures and sell them in these markets.
Wildlife and pet magazines needs shots of cats and dogs,
hedgehogs and wild animals.
All those celebrity gossip magazines you can find in any newsstand or
bookstore need great and humiliating pics of celebs big and small, and
every newspaper and news journal in every country of the world needs
pictures of breaking news, and will pay well for unique photos supplied
by freelance photographers.
So think you want to
set up your own photography business?
This can be a lot simpler than you might think, so if you are
looking for a way to become self employed and make money from home,
listen up! Starting your
own home business, no matter what industry, will offer the chance to be
truly free in your working life.
You can do what you like, keep your own hours and closely monitor
your finances without waiting for corporate paycheques to come in every
two weeks. The best thing
about working from home is the money you will save from renting office
space and having to possibly hire on staff to keep up office hours.
You can clear out your own space in your home, turn it into a
personal office and never need to leave home again (except to take a
couple pictures, of course)!
The first thing you
need to do is get a top quality digital camera.
Digital cameras aren’t just easier to use than traditional film
cameras, they make it a lot simpler to market photos once they have been
taken. A huge percentage of
photography commerce is completed online these days, so you’ll need a
good computer and connection and possibly some straight forward
photographic software to help present your work in the best light.
Basically, find a piece of equipment that you’re comfortable
using, and get to know it.
Next, decide what
sort of photos you want to focus on.
This can be tough when you know you’re into more than one sort of
photo, but trying to keep up with market trends on more than one face of
the industry will wear you down quickly and actually slow you down in
terms of success. Stick
with your favourite subject, say motorcycling, and take all the pictures
you can. Build up a
portfolio that shows your ability to take all sorts of different shots:
action, still, internal and lifestyle.
Once you’ve built up a decent portfolio you can begin to market
your photos to all sorts of companies and publications, so keep your
eyes open for opportunities.
That’s really all there is to it!
Keep your costs down, which shouldn’t be too difficult seeing as
all you need to get going are a camera and an internet-capable computer,
and then sell sell sell!
Remember that everyone needs pictures, so if you’ve got the gift, use
it. Be a part of all you
see around you, and help to shape the image of the world!
